This document establishes the formal definitional scope of
Occupational Wellness and Occupational Psychosis, as
defined within the canonical structure of
the Occupational Wellness Institute.™
Occupational Wellness is defined as an interdisciplinary, governance-relevant
field examining occupational roles, authority structures, incentives, and
institutional design and their influence on identity, perception, ethical
judgment, and well-being over time. The field focuses on systemic
conditions rather than individual pathology.
Occupational Psychosis is a non-clinical concept within this field. Occupational
Psychosis is defined as a role-induced pattern of distortion that may emerge
under conditions in which occupational identity, authority structures, and
incentive systems converge in ways that limit corrective feedback. Under
such conditions, institutions may gradually lose ethical reflexivity
while maintaining internal narratives of competence or care.
The term does not describe a mental disorder or psychological diagnosis.
It does not pathologize individuals or professions. It identifies a
structural risk condition that arises within performance-driven,
mission-oriented, or authority-bearing systems.
Occupational Psychosis is descriptive and analytical. It does not function
as a therapeutic model, coaching method, or intervention framework.
The field clarifies systemic dynamics that influence ethical
decision-making, accountability, and institutional integrity.
